In this video, Patrick Giberson, director on the United Soybean Board and USFRA board of directors, discusses how he overcomes the challenges of farming in population-dense New Jersey, and why the partnership with USFRA is beneficial to soybean farmers.
USFRA is committed to advancing credible, science-based knowledge that demonstrates the power of agriculture and its enormous potential. Late last year, we worked with Dr. Bruno Basso and Dr. Jerry Hatfield on a report, Enhancing Farm Profitability Through Nitrogen Efficiency and Yield Stability, which found that farmers can improve profitability and avoid millions of tons of GHG emissions using Yield Stability Analysis (YSA). YSA is a data-driven method that uses historical data to help farmers identify which areas of their fields are consistently high-, medium-, or low-yielding. Farmers then can tailor nitrogen fertilizer use to save money and reduce emissions and nutrient runoff.
Soon, you will learn more about two new studies nearing completion. One is a comprehensive biofuels research project, Unlocking Agriculture’s Potential with Biofuels as Catalyst. This work examines how biofuels expand market opportunities for U.S. agriculture, increase farm income and support rural economies.
The second explores trust and regenerative agriculture practices in partnership with Edelman, a leading global communications firm. This research analyzes how stakeholders across the agricultural ecosystem, including farmers, perceive regenerative agriculture. The report also identifies some key barriers to adoption.
